Tulips in bloom — Delhi wears spring like a soft smile

Image
Each spring, Delhi comes alive with the vibrant hues of tulip blossoms, painting parts of the city in vivid reds, yellows, pinks, and whites. These delicate flowers, often associated with cooler climates like Kashmir or the Netherlands, are cultivated carefully in select gardens like the Mughal Garden (now Amrit Udyan) and Lodhi Garden. Their short-lived bloom, usually between late February and early March, draws nature lovers, photographers, and tourists alike. In the heart of a bustling metropolis, the tulip bloom offers a fleeting yet serene escape into color and calm — a quiet celebration of seasonal change.

Mustard blooms and silence speaks

Image
This photograph captures the quiet beauty of rural Uttar Pradesh — a lone, leafless tree standing amidst a vibrant mustard field in full bloom. The bright yellow of the flowers contrasts strikingly with the bare branches, symbolizing the coexistence of life and stillness in the countryside. In the backdrop, sugarcane fields and distant trees fade into a hazy blue sky, reflecting the calm rhythm of village life. It's a moment of rural serenity — untouched, raw, and deeply rooted in the land.

Foam and Faith: The Toxic Reality of Yamuna’s Sacred Waters

Image
Scene from Kalindikunj, Delhi       The Yamuna River, once a lifeline of North India, is now a symbol of severe environmental degradation. One of the most alarming signs of its pollution is the thick layer of toxic foam that frequently forms on its surface, especially around Delhi. This foam is caused by the discharge of untreated sewage, industrial effluents, and detergents directly into the river. High levels of phosphate and nitrate from these pollutants react chemically, leading to frothing when the water is agitated. The foam not only looks unnatural but is hazardous to both human and aquatic life, causing skin irritation and harming biodiversity. Despite repeated warnings and clean-up promises, unchecked urbanization, weak enforcement of environmental regulations, and poor sewage treatment continue to choke the Yamuna, turning it into a frothy, foul-smelling stretch of water that reflects the failure of sustainable urban governance.  ...

Rural Jharkhand stares into the sun-soaked silence of struggle

Image
Witnessed moment from rural Jharkhand, portraying an elderly woman farmer in a lush yellow paddy field. Dressed in a traditional green saree, she stands barefoot with a wooden stick in hand, her posture reflecting both resilience and fatigue. Accompanied by her livestock, she toils under the open sky—an image that speaks volumes about rural women's struggles.                   Despite her age, she continues to labor hard, driven not by choice but necessity. Women like her often endure back-breaking work for meager wages, especially in Jharkhand where the daily wage for female laborers remains painfully low compared to men. Their work is invisible, their efforts undervalued, yet they are the backbone of India’s agrarian economy.                     This image is not just a portrayal of rural life—it is a stark reminder of the ...

kashmir walks in peace under wings of hope and tension

Image
This image, captured in the heart of Kashmir, portrays a poignant moment of calm following Operation Sindhoor. A young girl walks through a city square filled with pigeons, with the iconic clock tower standing silently in the background. While life has resumed and children like her are experiencing a semblance of peace, a shadow still lingers. The atmosphere remains heavy with uncertainty—echoes of unrest and the fear of terrorism persist. In the border villages, families live under the constant threat of shelling, making true happiness elusive despite the return of normalcy.           Life in the border villages of Kashmir remains deeply fragile, especially for the children. After Operation Sindhoor, there has been a visible shift toward peace in the towns and cities, but for those living near the Line of Control (LoC), fear still looms large.            Children in these villages grow up under the constant threat of cros...

Shambhu Border Burns with Hope and Resistance

Image
When the hands that feed the nation stand eye to eye with the hands meant to protect it — a nation must pause and question. Scene from Shambhu border, Punjab   The police is fighting face to face with our own farmers at the Shambhu Border, creating a heartbreaking and tense atmosphere. What began as a peaceful protest has now turned into a standoff, with barricades, tear gas, and water cannons used against those who feed the nation. These farmers, demanding fair prices, loan relief, and dignity, now find themselves facing the force of the very system meant to protect them. It’s a painful reflection of a nation divided — where the protectors and providers of the land are made to stand against each other, not by choice, but by policy and indifference. armers protesting peacefully at the Shambhu Border are being treated with harsh force as the Haryana Police resort to using tear gas, even deploying drones to spread the gas from above. This aggressive response has raised serious concer...

Scorched hopes : Rural India is Burning

Image
Scorched hopes : Mustard fields set ablaze in a harvest of despair (Scene from Uthar Pradesh)                                India on the rural is burning up on caste, where age-old hierarchies continue to smoulder beneath the surface of everyday life. Despite constitutional safeguards and decades of social reform, discrimination still defines access to land, education, justice, and even water. In countless villages, caste isn't just identity—it's fate, etched into rituals, relationships, and roles. The simmering tensions erupt in violence, exclusion, or silent endurance, reminding us that the real battle for equality in India isn't just in its laws, but in its fields, homes, and hearts.                               Deepening crisis, caught between rising input costs, erratic weather patterns, and falling crop prices. Unseasonal rain...
